Job Purpose:

The Assistant Manager – EHS will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, corporate EHS standards, and industry best practices. The role involves implementing safety programs, driving risk management initiatives, conducting audits, and fostering a culture of health, safety, and environmental sustainability across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee EHS policies, systems, and practices in alignment with regulatory standards and company guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and internal audits to identify gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS statutory requirements related to renewable, thermal power plants, or module manufacturing units.
  • Lead accident/incident investigations and prepare reports with root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Plan and conduct EHS training programs (safety induction, fire safety, work at height, electrical safety, PPE usage, etc.) for employees and contractors.
  • Drive implementation of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 management systems and support internal/external audits.
  • Monitor hazardous waste management, environmental impact, and occupational health practices.
  • Develop emergency preparedness and response plans; conduct mock drills for firefighting, evacuation, and first aid.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and government authorities to ensure smooth compliance and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    B. Tech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (mandatory).
  • Experience:

    6–7 years of professional experience in EHS within the

    power sector (renewable, thermal, or module manufacturing, Glass Industry)

    .
  • EHS Qualification/Certification (mandatory):

    • NEBOSH IGC
    • Diploma in Industrial Safety / ADIS / PDIS
  • Strong knowledge of EHS Standard, Factories Act, Electricity Rules, and other statutory requirements.
  • Exposure to large-scale power/renewable energy projects will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, safety management systems, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to promote safety-first culture.
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MIS reporting tools.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and engage with workforce effectively.
