ABOUT YOUR ROLE: The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern will work under the guidance of the EHS Manager, playing a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation and management of EHS policies, standards, and programs across manufacturing sites. This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting various EHS activities to promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: EHS Policy and Standards Implementation: Support the EHS Manager in driving the implementation of EHS policies and standards across all manufacturing sites. Audits and Inspections: Coordinate and conduct EHS system audits and inspections. Ensure zero non compliance during the customer audits/ Support for ISO 14001 and 45001 implementation in the manufacturing sites. Assist in identifying non-compliances and areas for improvement, ensuring corrective actions are implemented timely. Safety Audits and Risk Assessments: Periodically conduct safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and drive CAPA implementation. Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for current operations, recommending and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions. Training and Awareness: Assist in planning and executing the EHS training calendar. Deliver EHS training to employees, enhancing their awareness and understanding of EHS practices. Work Permit System and Waste Management: Implement the EHS work permit system and ensure compliance. Support the management of the fire hydrant system, fire alarm system, sewage and water treatment plants. Drive actions towards solid waste management, focusing on reduction, recycle, reuse, and replace options. EHS Reporting and Documentation: Manage EHS-related MIS and KPIs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation as per internal EHS systems. Prepare periodic performance reports for local and global teams. Ensure timely updates of EHS portals within the organization. Opening with a leading Manufacturing company for their office in Dahej Role & responsibilities Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and national environmental and safety regulations. Maintain necessary EHS documentation and submit statutory reports on time. Coordinate with the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) for applications, renewals, amendments, and clarifications related to environmental consents (CCA), authorizations, and returns. Assist in online submission and tracking of GPCB-related applications through the XGN portal. Safety Management: Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections. Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor use of PPE and ensure safe practices are followed on the shop floor. Environment Management: Ensure proper waste disposal, emission control, and environmental monitoring. Implementation of LOTO as per safety prospectus. Findings of HIRA, EPRP, Good knowledge about Safety work method preparation, Monthly analysis of water, air quality reports etc. as per OHSAS requirements, keeping records for LUX Level, Sound (DB) level, CO2 Level standard. Disaster scenario planning, emergency response training. MIS & Reports: Daily status report, Weekly & Monthly analysis Report, Annual projection, PPM completion, CAPEX & OPEX record tracker. Same report should be timely submitted or precent to client as per SLA. Finance & Procurement: New requirement PR, PO, Invoice, WCC validation & process. Closely monitor stores inventory & submit details MIS Report. Statutory Compliance : Licensing with external authorities like Factory Inspector, Fire inspector, Electrical Inspector for all the legal requirements & yearly certification. Same related complacence & legal tracker maintain & complete all certification are timely. Contract Management: Ensure all contracted work is carried out in accordance to the contract. All deliverables are carried as per the SLA and KPI. Timelines are adhered and identify any issues which can affect the performance and closure of the works. Service Standards: Implements expected service standards towards the service providers and sub-contractors. Ensure all work is carried out with the correct H&S standards. All PPE is in place for all service providers on site. Raise any work-related issue immediately so as not to affect to productivity of the work.
