Job Description

  • Minimum 15 + years in Business Development /Sales focussing in AFF and OFF business with good experience in MNC Freight Forwarding Logistics organisation.
  • Must have owned PnL responsibility.
  • Goal oriented seasoned Sales Professional with expertise in improving revenue, managing a sales team & negotiating with large corporates to generate business.
  • Spearheading sales and market intelligence activities toward creating a national business strategy for market, penetration, customer relationship management, Cost & qualitative effective marketing techniques.
  • Ensure that the monthly and Annual GP is achieved.
  • To ensure the Branch GP is achieved by directing/guiding/motivating staff to get the desired results
  • Ensure the branch CRM is done pro-actively - in terms of appointment/opportunities
  • Ensure the Branch receivables are collected as per the agreed period
  • To ensure we get the set product volumes for the branch
  • This role reports to head of Western Region Sales Head
  • Monthly, quarterly, yearly reporting to Country Management

  • KEY DELIVERABLES:-

  • Strong knowledge and experience in tender management and pricing preferred
  • Visionary leader with the ability to use their knowledge, skills and influence to guide and inspire others to reach their potential and achieve individual, team and company goals and objectives
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or similar field of study with emphasis in: International Business, Logistics/Supply Chain, Marketing or Sales preferred
  • Strong team-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and cultivate relationships
  • Ability to mentor, inspire and develop others to reach and exceed goals
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and complex environment while making timely decisions under pressure
  • Prefer experience in all modes: dry van, expedited, flatbed, oversized loads, refrigerated, intermodal shipments
  • Previous freight management software experience; McLeod and Cargowise One a plus
  • Customers and effective competitor mapping to increase market share.

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • He/ She should have spent most of their sales career focussing on AFF and OFF customers and should have in-depth knowledge of understanding customers requirements and providing customise solution.
  • He/ She should understand, develop and execute business plan; Gross Profit (GP), Volume, Revenue targets.
  • Generate new business, retain existing business, garner incremental business from existing customers as well.
  • Coordinate and support local/regional sales team on lead sharing, providing Freight Forwarding related orientation/training program to new hires, new business generation, onboard new business etc..
  • Understand the requirement of clients and co-ordinate with different departments for customised business proposal.
  • Negotiations, post sales follow up, retaining and enhancing relationship with key stake holders (internal/external) and managing C-level relationship.
  • Coordinate with implementation and operation teams for smooth customer onboarding and operational implementation.
  • Candidate should develop a strong sales pipeline to support the sales development plan and surpassing set targets.
  • The candidate should possess good networking skills to identify business opportunities, participating in industry events/conclave/exhibitions etc.
  • Working closely with other countries, regional and global team for growing specific accounts.
  • RFQ/RFP/RFO/Tender management.
  • The candidate should possess good communication.
  • Analytical, negotiation, behavioural and presentation skills.
  • Should be an aggressive go-getter with high energy levels and must have an inherent hunger for sales
  • Must have the ability to create, develop and sustain relationships at the levels at prospective client companies
  • Willingness to work in shifts
  • Open to travel in short notice
