Job Description

Job Title:

  • Assistant Director – Career Services

Location:

  • Pune

Reporting to:

  • Director – Career Services

Job Purpose:

  • Provide leadership and vision to inspire and guide the Placement & Internship teams to achieve the goals and objectives of MIT WPU.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic:

  • Develop and execute annual goals for Career Services & Internship activities.
  • Create, implement, and promote programs supporting Career Services & Internship goals.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Departments to create process documentation and streamline operations.

Operational:

  • Lead and manage the Placements & Internships team.
  • Identify and hire relevant talent for the department.
  • Train team members and ensure they are equipped to meet departmental goals.
  • Regularly assess the progress of placements and internships through reviews with key stakeholders.

Financial and Budget:

  • Oversee the financial management of Placements & Internships, including budgeting and audits.

Collaborations:

  • Maintain relationships with faculty heads and employers to support the success of Career Services & Internships.

Academic:

  • Improve students’ competency in career development, internships, PPOs, and final placements.
  • Foster a culture of positivity, continuous improvement, and quality in all activities.

External Representation:

  • Represent MIT WPU in professional bodies and build the institution's brand.

Person Specification:

  • Leadership and Management:

    Proven ability to provide effective leadership and manage diverse teams.
  • External Relations:

    Strong advocacy skills to represent the university at regional and national levels.
  • Personal Attributes:

    Strong commitment to MIT WPU’s vision and values, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • MBA from a Premier Institute.
  • 12 to 16 years of relevant experience in leadership roles.
  • Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing and evaluating team performance.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
