Position Overview

Assistant Chief Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Operations

• Assist in managing preventive and corrective maintenance of all hotel systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, elevators, fire safety, etc.).
• Support in ensuring uninterrupted power supply and efficient energy usage.
• Supervise troubleshooting and repair activities to minimize downtime.

Team Supervision

• Lead and mentor the engineering team (technicians, electricians, plumbers).
• Allocate tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all safety procedures, fire safety norms, and statutory requirements are followed.
• Support in managing audits, inspections, and certification processes.

Reporting & Budget Support

• Maintain records of daily maintenance activities and energy consumption.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in preparing departmental reports and budgets.

Project Support

• Coordinate with vendors/contractors for maintenance and small projects.
• Support installation, renovation, and technical upgrade projects.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and hotel engineering.
• Good leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with hotel maintenance operations.
• Familiarity with hospitality industry engineering standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and engineering tools.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in

  Electrical Engineering

  (mandatory).

• 5–8 years of relevant experience

  in hotel/resort/large facility engineering.
• Prior supervisory experience in hospitality engineering is desirable.
