Assistant Bar Manager

Job Summary:

The Assistant Bar Manager will assist in managing daily bar operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining beverage quality standards, and overseeing staff performance. The role demands strong leadership, product knowledge, and the ability to create an engaging bar experience that aligns with the 5-star standards of Gokulam Grand Turtle on the Beach, Kovalam.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support daily bar operations to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Assist in training, scheduling, and supervising bartenders and bar stewards.
• Ensure adherence to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards in the bar area.
• Maintain accurate stock levels of beverages, glassware, and bar supplies.
• Support in developing and updating beverage menus and cocktail recipes.
• Ensure consistent beverage presentation and quality control.
• Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests courteously.
• Coordinate with the purchase and accounts departments for requisitions and inventory control.
• Promote upselling and ensure sales targets are achieved.
• Monitor cash handling and billing procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in organizing bar promotions, events, and themed nights.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management / F&B Service or equivalent.
• 4–8 years of bar experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, cocktails, and beverage trends.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team.
• Good understanding of POS systems and inventory management.
• Flexible with working hours and shifts.
