Job Description

Job Title: Area Sales Manager Reporting To: General Manager - Head Responsibilities: Identify and onboard new institutional customers such as large manufacturers and processors. Maintain and grow business with key clients by ensuring product availability, service delivery, and relationship building. Prepare monthly sales tour plans, set regional targets, and review team performance regularly. Negotiate pricing within approved margins and seek necessary approvals for exceptions. Monitor outstanding payments and assist in resolving escalated collection issues. Analyze and report strategic market feedback on pricing, competition, and new opportunities. Resolve escalated client issues related to product quality, delivery, or documentation. Monitor and control regional sales expenses and ensure cost-efficiency. Coordinate with Accounts, Logistics, and Commercial teams for credit limits, dispatch priorities, and escalations. Train, guide, and evaluate performance of Senior Sales Executives or junior team members. Skills Required: Strong B2B sales and negotiation skills Working knowledge of commodity pricing and market dynamics Proficiency in customer relationship management and credit handling Good communication and coordination skills across department Basic proficiency in MS Excel, email, and business reporting Proficiency in the local language of the assigned region is preferred Willingness to travel frequently across assigned region Preferred Qualifications: Graduate or Postgraduate in Business Administration, Food Technology, or related fields 5-12 years of experience in B2B food/ingredient sales or commodity trading Familiarity with dairy, cocoa, or functional ingredients is preferred Prior experience in sales within institutional or bulk buying customers is an advantage Performance Metrics: Achievement of monthly and annual sales targets Gross margin contribution and profitability per account Timeliness and efficiency in collections and fund flow Number of new customers added and retained Customer satisfaction and account retention Adherence to SOPs, pricing discipline, and reporting accuracy
