Job Description

Title: Area Sales Manager

Job Summary

To drive sales growth and market share within the assigned territory by developing and executing sales strategies, building relationships with distributors and retailers, and ensuring effective execution of trade marketing activities through a team of two sales executives.


Key responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets within the designated area.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key trade partners.
  • Develop and implement local sales plans and promotional activities aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and ensure adherence to sales processes and reporting.
  • Conduct regular market visits to assess performance, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
  • Ensure optimal product availability, visibility, and placement across markets.
  • Manage distributor claims, credit notes, and inventory levels effectively.
  • Collaborate with marketing and supply chain teams to ensure smooth execution of brand initiatives.
  • Prepare area performance reports and provide insights for business improvement.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in sales management, preferably in relevant industry sectors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned sales territory.
