Description
As the Financial Controller at this company, your role will involve a variety of key responsibilities: - Supporting strategies, adding value, and maintaining close and strong relationships with stakeholders. - Taking responsibility for entire ATR service delivery to stakeholder group. - Ensuring standards are followed and processes are compliant, while also challenging standards to enhance process efficiencies. - Ensuring the financial data integrity of books of accounts by conducting regular GL scrutiny and ensuring data accuracy. - Strengthening process controls and compliance execution. - Conducting periodic performance management, identifying improvement areas, and implementing necessary changes. - Reviewing monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, identifying financial exposures, and taking appropriate actions. - Reviewing monthly NOPAT and providing explanations for significant variances. - Reviewing Trial Balance as part of monthly Book Close and ensuring correct reporting. - Demonstrating expert knowledge of IFRS/OHADA GAAP for the relevant country and ensuring compliance. - Supporting various types of audits (Statutory, Tax, Govt., Internal, etc.). - Driving NFTP implementation & enhancements for WAF Area entities as per project plan. - Participating/contributing in global/regional projects. - Managing, coaching, and leading a team, driving top-quartile team engagement, conducting MPACT conversations, actively engaging in team career planning and progression, etc. - Facilitating required functional and technical training to the team, including on OHADA and French language. Primary internal stakeholders you will be interacting with include: - Area Head of Finance/Area Finance Controller - Regional Controller/Regional Controlling team - Area FBP - BCO & Finops teams - Treasury - Respective Area Leads in OTC/PTP - ATR teams in HQ/CoE Primary external stakeholders will include: - Statutory Auditors - Tax consultants In terms of required qualification, experience, and skills, you should have: - Professional qualification such as CA/CPA/CMA/ACCA or equivalent. - Strong knowledge of OHADA/IFRS. - 12-15 years of experience in core accounting roles. - Experience in managing senior stakeholders and explaining financial data to non-financial backgrounds. - Ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally in a matrix organization. - Experience in managing audits. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to successfully lead people through organizational transformation and embed new ways of working. Furthermore, you should possess the following business/technical knowledge: - Understanding of container logistics business, especially within the Maersk setup (Ocean Agency, LnS ex-Damco/Inland Services, Liner business). - Working knowledge of the French Language. - Strong knowledge of SAP, OneStream, Blackline, MS Office tools. - Thorough understanding of compliance requirements. - Working knowledge of LnS CUBE, Aspire, etc. - Touchpoints to Tax, TCB, ICP, Transfer Pricing. Key measures for your role will include: - Monthly on-time book close and ensuring completeness of group deliverables. - Completion of audits as per agreed timelines. - Supporting and managing process changes without any impact on process deliverables.
