Job Description

The Business Solutions Intern will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of digital business capabilities at American Express. This cross-functional role combines product management, business analysis, and quality assurance to ensure innovative, reliable, and customer-centric digital solutions. The intern will gain hands-on experience across the entire solution lifecycle, from research and requirement definition to testing, performance validation, and release, while collaborating with teams across engineering, analytics, design, and compliance.

 

Key Duties Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining, refining, and managing product goals, roadmaps, and feature requirements aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct customer research, market and competitor analysis, and data-driven insights to support product and testing strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria for new features.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, analytics, and compliance teams to ensure smooth delivery of business solutions.
  • Create, review, and execute test cases and scripts; participate in functional and regression testing.
  • Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA and TestRail, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
  • Support basic automation testing, environment readiness, and test data management.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), feature adoption, and product quality metrics.
  • Prepare presentations, dashboards, and progress reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of product delivery and testing processes, ensuring adherence to data privacy, information security, and compliance standards at American Express.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering (B. Tech / B.E.), BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science / Information technology.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, digital platforms, and software testing fundamentals (SDLC/STLC).
  • Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, SQL, Python, or Postman preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data and reporting tasks.
