Role Overview

Application Support Specialist

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to

  user-reported incidents and infrastructure alerts

  , ensuring timely tracking and resolution.
• Perform

  proactive ready-for-business” checks

  , identify gaps, and address failures before business impact.
• Manage

  end-to-end incident management

  , including clear communication with impacted stakeholders.
• Conduct

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve

  application stability and operational excellence

• Execute and validate

  production changes

  strictly in line with approved change management procedures.
• Participate actively in

  planned technology events

  , including disaster recovery and business continuity tests.
• Respond promptly to

  regulatory and compliance-related issues

  .
• Liaise with

  external vendors, exchanges, and technology partners

  to resolve connectivity, market data, or platform issues.
• Leverage automation and monitoring tools to

  reduce manual effort and improve efficiency

  .
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure team knowledge remains current and future-ready.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–9 years

  of experience in

  Application / Production Support

  for mission-critical systems.
• Strong proficiency in

  Linux/Unix environments

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  shell scripting (Unix/Linux)

  and

  Python / Perl scripting

  .
• Solid experience working with

  SQL databases

  .
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  
• Experience with

  monitoring and scheduling tools

  such as

  Autosys

  or equivalent.
• Familiarity with

  version control tools

  (Perforce, ClearCase, Git – preferred).
• Good understanding of

  networking concepts

  including TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and SNMP.
• Exposure to

  real-time or low-latency systems

  is highly desirable.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience supporting

  electronic or algorithmic trading platforms

  (Equities or Fixed Income).
• Knowledge of

  real-time messaging technologies

  and market data feeds.
• Exposure to automation initiatives to reduce operational toil.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree

  in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
