Application Engineer

We’re looking for an Application Support Engineer with a strong software engineering background who has transitioned into Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps. This role is ideal for someone who understands application internals deeply and is passionate about ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability in production environments.

You’ll be part of a team that owns the full lifecycle of application support—from debugging and monitoring to automation and optimization. This is an engineering-heavy role (65%) with DevOps/SRE responsibilities (35%), focused on improving system reliability and developer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the support and reliability of production applications across the stack.

• Debug and resolve complex application issues in real-time.

• Collaborate with development teams to improve observability, performance, and scalability.

• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards using Grafana and Prometheus.

• Write queries and alerts to proactively detect anomalies and performance bottlenecks.

• Work with Kubernetes and Linux to manage containerized workloads.

• Contribute to automation efforts and improve CI/CD pipelines.

• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, driving postmortems and root cause analysis.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a transition into SRE/Application Support.

• Strong understanding of application architecture and how it interacts with infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Linux, and container orchestration.

• Proficiency in Grafana and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting.

• Programming experience in Go, Node.js, or Python.

• Experience in product companies or high-scale environments.

• Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and optimize performance.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, etc.).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with incident management and SLO/SLI frameworks.

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Contributions to open-source projects or internal tooling.
