AppDynamics Consultant/Developer

Key Responsibilities

AppDynamics Implementation & Administration

• Deploy, configure, and administer AppDynamics Controllers, agents, and extensions for applications, servers, databases, and cloud platforms.
  
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of AppDynamics infrastructure.
  
• Onboard new applications, configure custom dashboards, health rules, alert policies, and user roles.
  

Observability & Monitoring

• Design and implement full-stack observability solutions using AppDynamics and Dynatrace.
  
• Configure Real User Monitoring (RUM), Synthetic Monitoring, and API health checks.
  
• Build KPI-driven dashboards and reporting for business (latency, errors, CX) and technical metrics (throughput, MTTR, resource usage).
  

Performance & Incident Management

• Perform in-depth root cause analysis (RCA) using MELT (Metrics, Events, Logs, Traces) data.
  
• Work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to resolve performance issues and production bottlenecks.
  
• Enhance system resilience through optimized alerting, automation, and proactive monitoring techniques.
  

Integration & Automation

• Integrate AppDynamics with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and Jira for automated incident workflows.
  
• Implement monitoring for hybrid and cloud-native environments (Azure, AWS).
  
• Utilize OpenTelemetry for standardized telemetry pipelines and data collection.
  

Client Engagement & Documentation

• Provide consulting and best-practice recommendations to internal teams and clients.
  
• Deliver end-user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer sessions.
  
• Participate in on-call support for critical incidents and peak traffic periods.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with

  AppDynamics implementation, administration, and performance monitoring

  .
• Expertise in AppDynamics APM, EUM, RUM, and Synthetic Monitoring.
  
• Experience with other APM/observability tools such as

  Dynatrace, SolarWinds

  , or similar.
• Working knowledge of

  OpenTelemetry

  for distributed tracing and telemetry data collection.
• Proficiency with

  Windows/Linux

  , Azure/AWS services, SQL/PL-SQL, and scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) for incident, problem, and change management.
  
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  
• Strong communication and client-facing consulting skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications:
  
• AppDynamics Certified Implementation Professional (highly preferred)
  
• Dynatrace Certified Associate
  
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
  
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments, especially financial services or telecom.
  
• Exposure to cloud-native and containerized environments (Kubernetes, AKS, microservices).
