Job Title: AI/ML Intern – Feature Engineering

Location: Indore (Remote available for exceptional candidates)

Duration: 3–6 months (extendable)

Stipend: 30k - 35k

Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical AI/ML Intern who excels at working with unstructured, noisy, and high-dimensional data. The primary goal is to discover, extract, and validate meaningful features that can power ML models and decision systems.

You will work with diverse data formats—text, PDFs, web content, logs, images, raw feeds—and apply ML, statistical techniques, and LLM-based methods to transform them into structured and actionable representations.

If you enjoy solving ambiguous data problems and applying first-principles thinking, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Work extensively with unstructured datasets (text, documents, images, logs, semi-structured files).

• Build robust preprocessing pipelines for cleaning, normalization, and transformation of raw data.

• Extract features using:

◦ NLP techniques

◦ Embeddings & vector representations

◦ LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini, Llama)

◦ OCR / Vision models (optional)

• Apply statistical techniques to analyze feature distributions, correlations, noise, variance, and information value.

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify hidden patterns and signal in messy datasets.

• Prototype ML models to validate usefulness of engineered features.

• Document methodologies clearly and present insights to the technical team.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Solid understanding of statistics:

◦ Probability distributions

◦ Hypothesis testing

◦ Correlation/causation

◦ Feature significance

◦ Sampling & noise analysis

• Good understanding of:

◦ Machine Learning algorithms

◦ NLP fundamentals (tokenization, embeddings, transformers)

◦ Data preprocessing for unstructured inputs

• Experience with PyTorch / TensorFlow.

• Familiarity working with APIs of modern LLMs.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with financial text, market news, or sentiment extraction.

• Knowledge of vector databases (FAISS, Milvus, Pinecone).

• Exposure to OCR or document-parsing models (LayoutLM, Tesseract).

• Experience working with messy production-grade datasets.

• Understanding of time-series features and noise filtering.
