Job Description

  • Experience in Maintenance Coal based thermal Captive power Plant 40 mw


  • knowledge Maintenance Planning, Spare Parts Planning, Budgeting and condition monitoring.

  • Planning and effecting predictive & preventive maintenance schedules for various equipment to increase machine up time & equipment reliability.

  • Implementing maintenance schedules and carrying out periodic checks to ensure performance of various equipment and maintaining requisite documents for the same.

  • Ensuring smooth plant operations and generation & supply of steam & Power as per the operating parameter with safety and environment norms.

  • Accountable for cold & hot start-up of plant, emergency handling and normalizing the plant.

  • Steering schedule activities with continuous observation on weekly and monthly equipment changeover, equipment running hours, changing lube oil as per lab reports, etc.

  • Identifying areas of bottlenecks / breakdowns and taking steps to rectify the equipment through application of troubleshooting tools like root cause analysis.

  • Analyzing day to day activities & initiating appropriate measures to minimize the breakdowns and preventive maintenance.

  • Hands on Experience in Predictive Maintenance & Condition Monitoring of all Rotating Equipments.

  • Hard working, logical thinking & man power handling.

  • Maintenance of Boilers & its Auxiliary parts like ID fans,F.D fan,P.A fan, Drag chain,various types of Bearings, valves etc.

  • Maintenance of different types of pumps like Feed pump, Circulating water pump, Auxiliary cooling water pump etc.

  • Maintenance of ESP and Ash Handling System.

  • Boiler/plant safe shutdown procedure.

  • Knowledge on turbine Lube, Control oil filter.

  • Responsible for IMS and ISO documention.

  • Maintenance of 1*20 MW Turbine & 1*8 MW Turbine.

  • Modification of Hot Air gate of Boiler Coal mill #1 &2 (HP-743, Alstom- make) from fully closed gate to Gland system. After this modification no Boiler shut down taken. (After modification Hot air gate of coal mill (HP-743) are working very smoothly).

  • Developed new vendor for OEM/ Import substitution and cost conscious.

  • Modification in Worm shaft gland (Retrofit) system.

  • Provision for Top radial bearing outer race locking (Dowelling) arrangement.

  • Provision for feeder Hot & cold end bearing outer race locking arrangement.

  • Reduced maintenance time of Knife gate valve of rejection tank. Modified Knife gate valve body seat by providing replaceable seat.

Operations Preview : -

  • (20*2) 40MW Thermal Power Plant running with 220KV Grid.

Atmospheric Fluidized Bed Combustion Boilers having capacity 90TPH each.

Distributed Control System (DCS) based on Siemens automation.

Maintenance of Condenser Cleaning;attending tube leakage.

CHP (Coal Handling Plant) and AHP (Ash Handling Plant).

Maintenance of 40 MW AFBC BOILER like air leakage test in APH, hydro testing of boiler, , gas distribution test, boiler light up, alkali-boilout for boiler, steam blowing of critical piping, bed coil thickness test, coal firing,Bed coil erection.

  • Commissioned & Operation following equipment and System;

  • Nestler and Thermax make Oil, Gas and mixed fuel fired boilers.

  • CEHP make Pulverized Fuel fired boilers. Capacity 136 TPH, at 105 bar @ 510 Deg C.

  • CFBC and AFBC boilers high pressure coal fired boilers. Make IJT, Krupp and IJT.

  • BHEL and SNM make Medium to High pressure, condensing plus controlled and uncontrolled extraction type Steam Turbines.

  • Coal and ash handling systems for Thermal Power plant.

  • Emergency Diesel Generator set, BOP and Steam system.

  • IDE- Israel supplied Desalination plant of capacity as high as 1000M3/hr.

  • Plant utilities which include compressed air system from Atlas copco. Total Generation of 80000Nm3/hr.

  • Natural Gas system with capacity of 4 MMSCMD.

  • Air products and INOX supplied Nitrogen generation unit. Capacity installed: 21000Nm3/hr.

  • Waste water treatment system from Va-tech. Cap 1500M3/hr.

  • DM water system s from Thermax and Aquatech.

  • Cooling towers Sea water and Fresh water circulation based supplied from SPIG and Paharpur. Total circulation 60000M3/hr.

  • Reverse osmosis( RO) plant of 400M3/hr from Va tech.

  • 03 Nos of Vapour Absorption chiller (LiBr + Water) each of 1400TR capacity supplied by Thermax.

  • Other utilities like Potable water facility including passivation package, Acid and Caustic handling facility, Condensate handling, raw water treatment facility, Sea water handling facilities.

  • Ensuring effective site management and discipline to ensure safe & timely execution of the projects.

  • Performance guarantee test of equipments and capacity test of plant followed by commissioning.

  • Coordinating plant activities for the set up standards with accountability for strategic utilization & deployment of available resources to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Preparing SOPs, manuals & work instructions for operations for the unit and maintaining reports for facilitating decision making by the management.

  • Actively involved in employee coaching & counseling, appraising and reviewing performance, ensuring optimum performance.

  • Using Aspen for plant performance monitoring and improvement.

  • Using SAP/R3 for maintaining equipment history and maintenance management.

Contract Management

  • Managing Energy conversion contract within a contractual conditions.

  • Generating daily and monthly performance report.
