Role & responsibilities

Networking with Stakeholders

• Government Outreach: Regularly engage with bureaucrats (at state & district), state ministers, and other key political leaders to strengthen relationships for handling issues, approvals, regulatory compliance, and policy advocacy and enhance the company's visibility.
• Stakeholder Management: Foster relationships with local authorities, political leaders, and industrial bodies to facilitate a positive business environment.
• Statutory Compliance: Coordinate with all concerned department/function to ensure timely compliance of approvals/permits for all operating plants/projects in his region.
• Advocacy: Represent the company's interests in various forums, advocating for policies that support sustainable and responsible business practices.
• Industry Associations: Actively participate in forums like FICCI and CII to represent the company's interests and stay informed about industry trends.

Knowledge Management

• Policy Knowledge: Responsible for developing an in-depth understanding of existing industrial policies in Chhattisgarh and Odisha to navigate regulatory issues effectively.
• Mining Industry: Stay updated on MMRDA, MCR rules, and other mining industry regulations to facilitate informed decision-making for mining approvals/issues in the state of Chhattisgarh /Karnataka
• Enhance legal knowledge related to corporate affairs, environmental compliance and land acquisition laws and factory act & other relevant statutory compliances required for ensuring effective handling of issues.

Socio-Political Risk Assessment

• Continuous Monitoring: Regularly monitor socio-political conditions in the region to identify potential risks and opportunities for the company.
• Scenario Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop contingency plans based on potential socio-political scenarios.
• Government Relations: Utilize insights gained to advise senior management on navigating political landscapes effectively.
