Celestial Aerospace is developing next-generation launch systems that rely heavily on advanced composite structures for mass efficiency and performance. We are hiring an Aerospace Composite Engineer with deep expertise in the design, analysis, and realization of composite structures for launch vehicles. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with COPVs, cryogenic composite tanks, interstage structures, and flight-critical composite hardware, supported by strong theoretical foundations and simulation-driven design.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and development of composite structures for launch vehicles, including COPVs, cryogenic tanks, interstage structures, fairings, and primary load-bearing components
  • Perform structural analysis of composite and hybrid structures under pressure, thermal, dynamic, and flight loads
  • Develop and validate analytical and numerical models for composite pressure vessels and launch vehicle structures
  • Support material selection, laminate design, ply stacking, and failure analysis for aerospace composites
  • Work closely with propulsion, cryogenics, aerodynamics, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated structural solutions
  • Oversee composite manufacturing processes including filament winding, layup, curing, bonding, and inspection
  • Define test plans and support structural testing such as proof, burst, fatigue, and cryogenic qualification tests
  • Support supplier selection, technical evaluation, and quality oversight for composite manufacturing
  • Generate and review technical documentation including drawings, analysis reports, test reports, and design reviews



Mandatory Skill Sets

  • M.Tech or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering (Structures / Composites focus)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace composite structures development
  • Strong experience with COPVs, composite pressure vessels, cryogenic or high-pressure structures
  • Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or equivalent for composite structures
  • Solid understanding of composite mechanics, failure theories, and strength of materials
  • Experience with aerospace composite manufacturing techniques and NDT methods
  • Ability to independently perform design, analysis, and validation of flight-critical composite hardware



Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in composite structures for launch vehicles, aerospace systems, or high-performance applications
  • Direct experience with COPVs, interstage structures, or cryogenic composite tanks is strongly preferred
  • Prior research, project, or industry experience with ISRO, DRDO, IISc, IITs, or private space/aerospace companies is a strong plus



Education Qualification

  • M.Tech or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
