Job Description

As a Credit Control & Accounts Receivable Specialist, your role involves proactively managing a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts. This includes preparing and issuing statements of accounts and dunning letters following established credit control procedures. Additionally, you will maintain accurate customer records in the accounting system. You will also assist in processing vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and approvals. Reconciliation of vendor statements and resolution of any discrepancies with suppliers will be part of your responsibilities. Your key responsibilities will also include generating regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collection forecasts, and credit control performance. Providing insights on overdue accounts and potential bad debts will be essential for effective decision-making. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. A relevant certification in Credit Management or Accounts would be advantageous. With a minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in credit control or accounts receivable, you should possess a strong understanding of collection processes. Experience working with US-based companies or clients, with exposure to US accounting practices, is highly desirable. Familiarity with various accounting software systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Dynamics is preferred. Your technical proficiency should include a strong familiarity with basic US accounting practices and Tax implications. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, is required. Experience with relevant accounting software is essential for this role. In addition to technical skills, your communication and negotiation abilities should be excellent. You must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling you to negotiate effectively and professionally with customers and vendors. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, organization, time management, customer service orientation, and integrity are among the competencies that will contribute to your success in this role.
