Accountant

Job Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Chartered Accountancy firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of accountants and managing end-to-end accounting operations, including finalization of accounts, presentation of financial statements, and compliance with GST and TDS provisions. This role requires a strong understanding of Indian accounting standards and tax laws, along with leadership and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the daily accounting activities of a team of 4 accountants. Lead the finalization of accounts including preparation of financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Schedules). Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and yearly books of accounts. Supervise and ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, debtors, creditors, and other ledgers. Maintain compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory provisions including: Preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.) TDS deduction, payment, and return filing (Form 26Q, 24Q, 27Q) Coordinate and support audits (Statutory, Internal, Tax) by preparing required schedules and responding to auditor queries. Review and approve journal entries, vouchers, and other documents prepared by team members. Guide junior staff and ensure accuracy in their accounting work. Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders for accounting-related matters. Prepare MIS reports and financial analysis as required by the management or clients.
