Job Description

Key Responsibilities of an AccountantFinancial Record Management: Maintain accurate records of financial transactions including receipts, payments, assets, and liabilities in ledgers and journals. Budget Preparation: Assist in formulating annual budgets, preparing revised estimates, and monitoring expenditures to ensure they align with approved allocations. Internal Audit and Compliance: Conduct internal audits to verify that all payments and expenses comply with municipal or organizational rules and budgetary provisions. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets, income and expenditure reports, and fund utilization summaries for decision-making and statutory submission. Fund Management: Manage and monitor municipal or company funds, ensuring surplus or deficit handling is consistent with fiscal policies. Payroll and Taxation: Calculate employee salaries, ensure statutory deductions (like taxes and provident funds) are in order, and comply with government regulations. Audit Coordination: Support external and statutory audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring audit recommendations are implemented. Debt and Investment Tracking: Maintain detailed records of loans, investments, and outstanding liabilities to ensure timely payments and compliance.
