Accountant

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Experience: ~2 years Job Description:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have approximately two years of accounting experience and will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting operational financial tasks. Key Responsibilities: ·        Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping: record and reconcile journals, ledgers, bank statements. ·        Manage accounts payable and receivable (invoice processing, supplier payments, customer receipts). ·        Assist in month-end and quarter-end close activities: prepare trial balance, preliminary financial reports. ·        Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and ensure proper documentation. ·        Support GST / VAT filings, TDS compliance and other statutory requirements as applicable. ·        Assist with internal and external audits, provide required schedules and documentation. ·        Maintain and use accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP Business One, QuickBooks, Zoho Books) and MS Excel for reporting and analysis. ·        Provide accurate and timely financial data to support management decision-making. ·        Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies. Qualifications & Skills: ·        Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance (B.Com / BBA / equivalent). ·        ~2 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a small/mid-sized company or firm handling full-book accounting. ·        Proficiency with accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho etc) and strong MS Excel skills. ·        Good understanding of financial & accounting concepts (ACCP, full book closing, reconciliation etc). ·        Exposure to GST, TDS, statutory filings preferred. ·        High attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills. ·        Good interpersonal and communication skills (to liaise with vendors/customers, teams, auditors). ·        Ability to work independently and as part of a small finance team. Reporting to: Finance Manager / Senior Accountant / CFO (depending on organisation size) Employment Type: Full-time
