Job Overview:

An Academic Counsellor plays a vital role in guiding students toward their educational and career goals. They provide personalized counselling on course selection, academic planning, and skill development while assisting in the admission process. The role involves understanding students’ interests, strengths, and aspirations to recommend suitable programs and ensure a positive learning experience. Academic Counsellors act as a bridge between the institution and students, ensuring academic satisfaction, engagement, and retention.

Key responsibilities:

· Counsel prospective students about academic programs, course selection, and career pathways in finance and economics.

· Handle student inquiries through calls, emails, and walk-ins, converting leads into enrolments.

· Assist in admission processes, eligibility checks, and documentation.

· Maintain updated knowledge of all programs, certifications, and course structures offered by the institution.

· Conduct career guidance sessions, webinars, and information events.

· Track student progress and provide continuous academic support and motivation.

· Collaborate with marketing and academic teams for student engagement and retention initiatives.

· Maintain accurate counselling and enrolment records in CRM or internal databases.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Economics, Commerce, Management, or related fields).
• Strong understanding of finance/economics education or willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools.
• Self-motivated, empathetic, and result-oriented

Experience:

• 1–2 years of experience in academic counselling, admissions, or education sales.
