Role Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and creative 3D Model Designer to join our team in Ahmedabad, specializing in the creation of custom, high-fidelity 3D sculptures, statues, and miniatures. This role is critical to our customization services, where we transform client photographs into stunning physical 3D products. The ideal candidate will have exceptional technical skills and an artistic eye capable of capturing subtle human and animal features.

Key responsibilities

Custom Model Creation: Translate 2D client photographs (humans, pets, objects) into accurate, ready-to-print 3D models (statues, miniatures, busts).

High-Detail Sculpting: Design and create highly detailed and realistic 3D models including human figures, complex poses, various animal types, intricate designs, and architectural statues.

Software Mastery: Utilize industry-standard software—primarily ZBrush, Blender and Maya—for high-polygon sculpting, modeling, texturing, and topology optimization.

Production Pipeline: Prepare and optimize models for 3D printing, ensuring models are manifold, structurally sound, and adhere to specific print material and size constraints.

Quality & Review: Work closely with the production team and project managers to review designs, incorporate feedback, and ensure the final model aligns with the client’s vision and our quality standards.

Asset Management: Maintain an organized library of 3D assets, textures, and designs.

Qualifications

Proven Expertise in 3D modeling and digital sculpting, preferably in a product customization or collectibles environment.

Software Proficiency (Expert Level):

ZBrush (Mandatory): High-level proficiency in digital sculpting, detailed modeling, and polypainting.

Autodesk Maya (Mandatory): Strong knowledge of modeling, retopology, UV mapping, and scene setup.

Additional Software: Experience with other relevant 3D software (e.g., Blender, 3ds Max, Substance Painter) is a plus.

Artistic Skill: Excellent understanding of human and animal anatomy, form, proportion, and weight. Must be able to capture likeness and expressive detail.

Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of 3D printing technologies (SLA, FDM, PolyJet, etc.) and the necessary file preparation processes (e.g., watertight meshes, wall thickness).

Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of high-detail organic and hard-surface models, particularly sculptures, human and animal figures, and intricate decorative items.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly explain design decisions and integrate feedback.
