Key Responsibilities: Understand and Enhance Existing FPGA Architecture: Analyze and comprehend current FPGA designs and architectures. Identify areas for improvement and optimization within existing systems. Implement enhancements to improve performance, efficiency, and functionality. Develop Modular Architectural Approaches with a Focus on Testability: Design modular FPGA architectures to facilitate ease of testing and integration. Ensure that new designs are scalable and maintainable. Incorporate best practices for testability into the design process. Collaborate with Software, Hardware, and System Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure FPGA designs meet system requirements. Communicate effectively with software developers, hardware engineers, and system architects. Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to other team members. Develop RTL Code, Perform Logic Synthesis, Timing Analysis, and Timing Closure: Write and optimize RTL (Register Transfer Level) code for FPGA designs. Conduct logic synthesis to translate RTL code into gate-level designs. Perform timing analysis to ensure designs meet timing constraints and achieve timing closure. Create Test Benches and Simulation Tools for Verification: Develop comprehensive test benches to verify the functionality and performance of FPGA designs. Utilize simulation tools to test and validate designs before implementation. Debug and resolve issues identified during the verification process. Troubleshoot and Improve Building Block Modules: Identify and resolve problems in FPGA modules to enhance performance and reliability . Continuously improve the design and functionality of FPGA building blocks. Document troubleshooting processes and solutions for future reference. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog. Experience with FPGA design tools and platforms (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus). Strong understanding of digital design principles and practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse teams. Preferred Skills: Experience with high-speed digital design and signal processing. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Tcl) for automation tasks. Knowledge of system-level integration and testing methodologies. Experience in low-power design techniques and optimizations. Role & responsibilities Design and implement complex digital systems using Verilog and/or VHDL. Develop and optimize digital signal processing algorithms for implementation on FPGAs. Perform simulation and verification of RTL code using tools like ModelSim, Questa, or Vivado. Debug and troubleshoot FPGA-based systems using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and on-chip debugging tools (e.g., ChipScope/ILA). Work closely with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of FPGA designs into larger systems. Optimize performance, power, and area (PPA) of FPGA designs. Perform synthesis, place and route, and generate bitstreams using tools such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus. Write testbenches and conduct unit and system-level testing. Document design specifications, processes, and test results.

As an FPGA & Board Design Engineer, you must develop new hardware designs, including system design, CPLD/ FPGA or processor design, and board-level analog/ digital circuit design for embedded systems/ boards. You have to develop detailed specifications based on requirements and implement Hardware designs in accordance with those defined requirements and/or specifications. Your duties include Schematic design generation and entry, netlist generation, and close interaction with the CAD team for layout review and feedback. Perform simulation activities including timing analysis, behavioural, and functional simulations. Develop test benches and other test tools as needed to complete the verification of FPGA designs. Carry out proto H/W bring-up with support from firmware engineers. REQUIREMENTS B.Tech. or M.Tech. EE with 2+ years of FPGA experience including implementation, synthesis, and timing closure. Proficiency in Verilog, VHDL and System Verilog. Proficiency in Synopsys Synplify, Xilinx Vivado, ISE Hands-on with FPGA debug methodologies, such as ChipScope. Proficient in Schematic capture tools like Orcad/Altium Hands-on experience with lab debug equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Strong scripting skills in Perl/Python. Experience in test bench design and implementation Knowledge of high-speed interfaces including PCIe, Ethernet, and DDR3/4. Knowledge of low-speed interfaces including SPI, IIC, and UART. Knowledge and experience designing with Altera and Xilinx FPGAs. Detail-oriented individual with good interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
