Application Test Engineer (Field & R&D Center)

Travel: Frequent travel to client sites (e.g., DRDO, BEL, ECIL, private sector labs)Working Mode: FulltimeTimings: Shift timings are applicable (9am -6:30pm , 2pm 11pm)Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and skilled Application Test Engineer in the VLSIdomain who can contribute to IP validation, system-level testing, and client-side integration.The role requires working closely with design and verification teams during developmentand deploying/debugging FPGA-based and HDL-coded systems at field/customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:At R&D Center:Develop test benches and test cases for digital IPs using Verilog/VHDL.Perform functional and timing simulations using tools like Xilinx Vivado or ModelSim.Execute synthesis and implementation workflows, debug timing issues, and validate output data.Conduct ChipScope/ILA or SignalTap-based signal validation and debugging.Support debugging of system bring-up and coordinate with design teams to resolve issues.Contribute to documentation, test reports, and version-controlled test artifacts.

At Field/Client Sites:Perform IP and system-level integration and testing on FPGA boards (Spartan, Zynq,Artix, etc.).Conduct lab-level tests on digital and RF interfaces; capture and validate data patterns.Assist with power-on testing, clock validation, interface checks at client premises.Provide on-site debug support for issues involving clock domains, reset sequencing, and timing mismatches.Ensure smooth deployment, acceptance testing, and sign-off of delivered systems.Regularly report field issues to R&D teams and assist in resolution

Required Skills:Strong knowledge of Digital Design, Verilog/VHDL, and number system conversions.Proficient in simulation, synthesis, and test workflows using Xilinx Vivado or equivalent tools.Good understanding of power and voltage conversion metrics (dB, dBm, dBW,dBV).Basic hands-on experience with FPGA boards and interface debugging.Familiarity with ChipScope/ILA, protocol analyzers, and lab equipment(oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).Strong problem-solving and debugging ability in real-time.Excellent communication skills for client interaction and reporting.Ability to work independently under tight timelines and dynamic field conditions.

Other Requirements:Willingness to travel on short notice to client sites.Must comply with companys data confidentiality and IP protection policies.Security clearance may be required for defense client engagements.Minimum Service Agreement : 24 Months Service
