Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Architecture : Lead the technical design and architecture for all major Shopify Plus projects, including headless implementations (using Hydrogen/Remix, Next.js), B2B portals, and complex integrations with ERPs, PIMs, and CRM systems.
• Team Management & Mentorship : Manage, mentor, and grow a team of Shopify developers. Conduct code reviews, establish best practices, and foster a culture of continuous learning and quality.
• Project Execution : Collaborate with Project Managers, Solutions Architects, and Data Analysts to translate client business requirements (e.g., unified commerce for Guitar Center, DTC subscriptions for Mars) into detailed technical specifications and realistic timelines.
• Hands-On Development : Remain hands-on with code, especially for complex features, performance optimization, and solving challenging technical problems. Ensure the team's output is scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Client & Stakeholder Communication : Act as a technical expert in client meetings, providing confident explanations of technical decisions, trade-offs, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• 5+ years of Shopify development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or tech lead role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Shopify Plus : Deep understanding of its admin, APIs, and exclusive features (e.g., Launchpad, Scripts, Flow, B2B, Functions).
• Mastery of Core Shopify Stack : Liquid, Theme Kit, Slate, and the Shopify CLI.
• Extensive experience with Headless Commerce : Architecting and building solutions with Hydrogen, Remix, Next.js, and Vue Storefront, including state management and deployment strategies.
• Shopify App Development : Proven track record of building, deploying, and managing public and private Shopify Apps using Polaris, React, and Node.js.
• API Expertise : Advanced knowledge of both Shopify Admin REST and GraphQL APIs for data integration and manipulation.
• Systems Integration : Demonstrated experience integrating Shopify with third-party systems like ERP (SAP, NetSuite), POS, OMS, and PIM via custom apps or middleware.
• Performance & DevOps : Strong skills in performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse), version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines specific to Shopify theme and app deployment.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an agency or consultancy environment, working with multiple concurrent clients.
• Shopify Plus Certification, Hydrogen Certification, or other relevant credentials.
• Experience with DevOps, containerization (Docker), and performance monitoring tools.
