Warehouse Assistant

About the Role The Warehouse Assistant will support day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storing, organizing, packing, and dispatching goods. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in handling materials, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, physically fit, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse. Key Responsibilities Material Handling & Inventory Management Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, components, and finished goods. Accurately update stock records and maintain real-time inventory levels. Store materials systematically ensuring proper labeling, safety, and accessibility. Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with monthly/quarterly physical inventory audits. Report any stock discrepancies, shortages, damages, or quality issues. Order Processing & DispatchPick, pack, and prepare orders based on production or customer requirements. Ensure correct documentation (challans, invoices, packing lists) is attached with each shipment. Coordinate with logistics partners for timely dispatch and delivery tracking. Assist in loading/unloading materials safely using manual or mechanical equipment. Warehouse Operations & Safety Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards across the warehouse. Follow SOPs for material handling, storage, and equipment use. Ensure compliance with company safety protocols—including PPE usage, fire safety, and hazard reporting. Assist in maintaining warehouse equipment like trolleys, pallets, racks, and scanners. Coordination & Communication Collaborate with Purchase, Production, QC, and Dispatch teams for smooth workflows. Update supervisors on inventory status, urgent requirements, or operational bottlenecks. Maintain accurate daily records of materials movement and ensure timely reporting. Required Skills & CompetenciesBasic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management. Ability to read labels, follow instructions, and handle documentation.
