VP, RC AI and Analytics

As a Vice President, Risk and Compliance AI and Analytics at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the bank's regulatory compliance and risk management through the application of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. Your primary responsibilities will include leading a team within RC AI & Analytics, utilizing a combination of applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and data engineering to protect the bank from regulatory conduct risk exposure. You will champion best practices in model risk management to support the safe deployment of analytical solutions and oversee the research and monitoring of bespoke analytical products to identify, measure, and mitigate emerging regulatory risks. Your role will involve promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making and aligning short-term decisions with long-term objectives through the adoption of data science. Reporting to the Group Head of AI & Analytics Regulatory Compliance, you will collaborate with stakeholders within IT and Product Management to deliver innovative analytical solutions that meet business demands. You will facilitate effective engagements between Risk Stewards and 1LOD, enabling the smooth deployment of analytical solutions and changes. Additionally, you will work with control functions to ensure the effective operation of the control framework. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and managing compliance-related models, implementing appropriate controls and governance for analytical products, and reassessing operational risks associated with changing conditions. Your duties will also involve providing timely management and remedial action for any risks or issues within your area of responsibility. To qualify for this position, you should have a degree in technology, data analytics, or a related discipline, or at least 8 years of relevant work experience in computer or Data Science. Experience in Financial Services, particularly within a tier one bank, and knowledge of regulatory compliance are essential. Moreover, you should possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently and solve complex business problems. In terms of technical knowledge, you should have a solid understanding of data science principles, visualization tools, data architecture concepts, and experience with various software tools including JIRA, GIT, and Advanced Excel. Your strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and client-focused approach will be key assets in this role at HSBC.
