Virtualization Lead Administrator

Position Responsibilities

• Virtualization Management: Lead the planning, deployment, and management of virtualization technologies, including Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms, to ensure efficient resource utilization and high availability.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of virtualization administrators, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise.
• Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement virtualization solutions that meet the organization & needs while ensuring scalability and performance.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor virtualized environments and proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures and policies to protect virtualized environments from threats and vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Backup and Recovery: Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Automation: Utilize scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible) to streamline virtualization management tasks, improve efficiency, and enable self-service provisioning.
• Capacity Planning: Assess capacity requirements and make recommendations for scaling virtual resources to meet the growing demands of the organization.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of virtualization configurations, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications and Experience Requirement

• Bachelor & degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience in leading virtualization teams.
• Strong expertise in virtualization technologies (e.g., AHV, VMware, Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in server hardware, storage, and networking concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex virtualization issues.
• Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Nutanix Calm, Ansible).
• Knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Nutanix certified or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.

Leadership Competencies

• Proven experience in leading Virtualization teams.
• IT experience in Banking in industry is beneficial.
