About the Role

Video Editor

What You’ll Do:

• Edit short-form videos (15–90 seconds) that are punchy, engaging, and high-performing
• Add captions, effects, transitions, memes, zooms — anything to make content scroll-proof
• Work closely with our content and video teams to bring scripts and footage to life
• Format and optimize videos for multiple platforms (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
• Keep a close eye on what’s trending and apply those styles and techniques
• Occasionally edit long-form content like YouTube explainers or interviews (if interested)

Requirements:

• Proficiency in editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, or DaVinci Resolve)
• Strong understanding of short-form content pacing, hook-building, and structure
• A knack for storytelling — even in 30 seconds
• Ability to work with fast turnarounds and iterate quickly based on feedback
• Comfortable working with talking-head content, classroom footage, and live shoots

Bonus Points For:

• Experience editing content for creators, startups, or education brands
• Having your own Instagram/TikTok/YouTube Shorts channel
• Ability to add personality through motion graphics or sound design
• Familiarity with Polaris' audience and the kind of content students resonate with
• A portfolio that shows variety, speed, and strong editorial choices
