Salary range: Rs 300000 - Rs 700000 (ie INR 3-7 LPA)

Min Experience: 2 yearsLocation: ChennaiJobType: full-timeThe Due Diligence - Income Calculation Associate plays a vital role in the residential mortgage review process by evaluating borrower income, financial stability, and overall risk profile. This position focuses on detailed financial analysis to support sound lending decisions while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. The role requires working with complex financial documents, applying underwriting guidelines, and maintaining accuracy under tight timelines. This is a full-time, night-shift role based in Chennai, ideal for professionals with prior mortgage processing or underwriting experience.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Review residential mortgage loan files to ensure all income-related documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with underwriting guidelines
  • Analyze borrower income using pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, W-2s, and other supporting documents
  • Assess employment stability, income consistency, and overall borrower financial capacity
  • Evaluate credit reports to determine creditworthiness and identify potential risk factors
  • Calculate debt-to-income (DTI) and loan-to-value (LTV) ratios accurately
  • Verify property values using appraisal and valuation reports
  • Ensure loan files meet applicable regulatory requirements and internal lending standards
  • Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate resolutions within defined timelines
  • Maintain detailed records and updates in mortgage processing systems
  • Support quality control and audit requirements by ensuring proper documentation and analysis
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth loan review and approval processes

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline with relevant experience in mortgage processing or underwriting
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in residential mortgage operations, underwriting, or due diligence
  • Strong understanding of income calculation methods, credit analysis, and mortgage regulations
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, tax documents, and credit reports with precision
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation abilities
  • Proficiency in mortgage processing software and financial analysis tools
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate across teams and clarify findings
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
  • Willingness to work night shifts and handle time-sensitive deliverables
  • Certification in mortgage underwriting or related areas is an added advantage
