Role Overview

hands-on UPI Switch Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the

  development of UPI Switch

  (UPI 2.0/3.0) per NPCI guidelines
• Manage

  NPCI certification, simulator testing

  , and audit responses
• Architect integration workflows with

  Core Banking Systems (CBS)

• Oversee modules like

  Collect, AutoPay, ODR, Refunds, Mandates, and Risk Engine

• Collaborate with NPCI tech/product teams on updates, sandbox access, and releases
• Manage and lead backend engineers & QA teams for sprint planning, delivery, and issue resolution
• Ensure robust monitoring,

  fraud control

  , reconciliation, and failover planning

Must-Have Skills

• 5–7 years of total experience with

  minimum 3+ years in UPI/NPCI projects

• Experience working with

  NPCI systems, certifications, and sandbox/simulator environments

• Solid hands-on expertise in

  Java, Spring Boot, APIs, ISO 8583/JSON

  protocols
• Familiarity with CBS integration flows, encryption modules, and callback logic
• Strong understanding of

  real-time payments, disputes, refunds, and compliance needs

• Excellent leadership, task ownership, and cross-functional collaboration
  

• Knowledge of

  NPCI settlement and reconciliation modules

• Prior experience working with

  banking TSPs or direct with NPCI

• Experience with

  ISO 20022

  , IMPS, BBPS, or other payment switch platforms

• Build one of India’s most agile UPI Switch infrastructures from the ground up
• High-impact role with direct visibility to CTO and founding team
• Exposure to cutting-edge payment infrastructure and bank-level deployments
• Fast-paced environment focused on real innovation, not maintenance
