Unit Head - Engineering Operations & Maintenance (MEP,HVAC)

Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Oversee

  end-to-end operations and maintenance of MEP systems

  (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and BMS).
• Develop and implement

  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  to ensure smooth functioning of building services.
• Ensure all systems run efficiently, safely, and meet

  comfort, sustainability, and compliance standards

  .
• Plan and execute

  emergency preparedness

  for HVAC and MEP systems.

2. HVAC Operations & Maintenance

• Lead day-to-day functioning of

  Chillers, Cooling Towers, AHUs, FCUs, VRFs, Exhaust & Ventilation systems, PAC units

  .
• Plan and monitor

  preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules

  .
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of service.
• Monitor

  indoor air quality (IAQ)

  and ensure compliance with ASHRAE / NABH / IGBC / LEED standards (depending on industry).

3. Electrical Systems Oversight

• Manage

  HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, lighting, and power distribution networks

  .
• Ensure

  electrical safety protocols

  and compliance with statutory regulations.
• Optimize power usage and ensure

  24/7 uninterrupted supply

  in critical facilities (like hospitals, data centres, etc.).

4. Plumbing & Fire Systems

• Oversee

  water supply, drainage, STP, WTP, and pumping systems

  .
• Ensure regular checks and maintenance of

  fire fighting systems (sprinklers, hydrants, fire alarms, extinguishers)

  .
• Coordinate with safety teams for

  fire drills and emergency response readiness

  .

5. Energy & Sustainability Management

• Monitor and analyze

  energy consumption trends

  for HVAC and other MEP systems.
• Implement

  energy efficiency projects, retrofits, and automation (IoT/BMS integration)

  .
• Drive initiatives towards

  green building standards, renewable integration, and sustainability goals

  .

6. Compliance, Safety & Audit

• Ensure compliance with

  local, state, and national building codes, environmental laws, and statutory requirements

  .
• Conduct

  internal and external audits

  of MEP systems.
• Ensure

  safe refrigerant handling, leak testing, and disposal

  .
• Maintain safety protocols for all technicians, vendors, and contractors.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.Tech in Mechanical ( Regular)
• Strong exposure to

  HVAC & MEP operations, energy management, and statutory compliance

  .
• Leadership experience in large-scale facilities / hospitals / infrastructure preferred.
