How will you make a difference
As a member of our Unified Communications (UC) team, Wabtec is looking for an individual to run a best-in-class voice and video platform based on Microsoft Teams. The UC Engineer role reports directly into the Networking/UC/Identity organization and is responsible for the management of our UC infrastructure, project management, service delivery, and designing solutions & processes.
What do we want to know about you
You must have:
- 4 year degree with 5+ years of IT experience.
- Expertise in voice concepts and best practices such as SIP trunking, MOS and other call quality metrics, telephony, VoIP
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams administration, including Microsoft Teams Direct Routing
- Knowledge of AV and conference room technologies
- PowerShell scripting skills
- Project management skills
- Willing to embrace change and manage or influence required activities to reach desired outcomes
- Proven ability to deliver while under tight timelines
- Demonstrated ability to proactively analyze and solve complex problems
- Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written
- Actively seeks next-gen certifications pertinent to the role.

We would love it if you had:
- MS-700 and/or MS-721 certification
- Entry-level SBC vendor certification, such as AudioCodes ACA
- Experience with Nice CXOne Studio
- Entry-level project management certification, such as CAPM
- Knowledge of ITIL concepts and practices
What will your typical day look like
- Ensure incident response and compliance to ticket SLAs.
- Support UC platforms & services, including Microsoft Teams, conference room systems, SIP trunking, call center solutions, and webcasts.
- Manage & deliver UC projects, including Teams Voice deployment projects.
- Deploy proactive solutions to recurring problems/requests.
- Be an escalation point, and a strong advocate for our end users, customers, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with third-party service and support vendors to ensure maximum uptime and prompt problem remediation

Work Environment:
- Current hybrid work schedule of at least 3 days in the office (Tuesday-Thursday), with a possibility of returning to 5 days at any time.
- The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
