Job Title: Trustea Officer

Job Purpose:
The Trustea Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining compliance with the Trustea Code in tea estates/factories. The role ensures sustainability standards are followed across operations, covering environmental, social, and ethical practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implementation & Compliance
- Ensure tea estates/factories are compliant with Trustea standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and records as required for audits.
- Regularly review operations and identify gaps in compliance.
2. Audit Preparation & Support
- Prepare and coordinate for internal & external Trustea audits.
- Liaise with auditors, provide required documentation, and support audit activities.
- Follow up and close non-conformities in a timely manner.
3. Training & Awareness
- Conduct training sessions for workers and staff on Trustea requirements.
- Build awareness on health & safety, environmental protection, and ethical practices.
- Ensure all stakeholders understand their role in maintaining compliance.
4. Supply Chain & Traceability
- Maintain mass-balance and traceability from smallholders to factory dispatch; ensure accurate receipts, green leaf quality, and documentation.
- Onboard and monitor bought-leaf suppliers for trustea compliance; schedule field inspections and checklist scoring.
5. Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct regular inspections of field and factory operations.
- Prepare compliance reports and present findings to management.
- Maintain updated records on pesticides, chemical usage, wages, and social compliance.
6. Sustainability & Worker Welfare
- Ensure adherence to labour welfare practices, wages, and statutory benefits.
- Promote environment-friendly practices like waste management, energy saving, and safe chemical handling.
- Support management in implementing CSR & sustainability initiatives.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with field managers, factory teams, and HR to ensure smooth compliance.
- Act as a key liaison between the estate/factory and external stakeholders related to Trustea.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate in Agriculture / Environmental Science / Social Work / Sustainability / or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in tea industry sustainability, quality, or compliance preferred.
- Knowledge of Trustea, Rainforest Alliance, or similar sustainability standards is an advantage.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of tea industry operations (field & factory).
- Understanding of labour laws, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), and compliance standards.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and training abilities.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate audits and follow up on corrective actions.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
