Transportation Engineer

Overview

• Background in three-dimensional roadway, intersection, interchange, or multimodal design.
• Experience working on design elements of any of the following: traffic signals, roundabouts, service interchanges, bicycle/pedestrian projects, signing and striping, and construction traffic control plans.
• Solid understanding of AutoCAD Civil3D, AutoCAD, and/or Microstation, InRoads, Open Roads Designer.
• Experience in preparation and development of construction documents and supporting reports, plans, quantities, and estimates using highway design manuals, NCHRP guidelines, AASHTO policies, MUTCD, and local design criteria.
  

• Technical proficiency in transportation design and/or operations related to the focus areas mentioned above.
• Consultant mindset (e.g., anticipate needs, accurately read audience, creative problem-solving, resourcefulness, etc.).
• Highly effective time prioritization.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients/teaming partners/industry professionals.
• Deliver meaningful feedback and mentorship for career growth.
  

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience related to technical focus areas referenced above.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where you will primarily deliver work or EIT with the expectation to obtain PE within one year.
• Clear passion for transportation and experience as a consultant.
