Position: Transport Manager
Location: K.R. Mangalam Group of Schools

Reporting to: Administrative Head / Management

Role Objective

The Transport Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant management of the entire transport system of the schools, including buses, drivers, and support staff. The role requires strong knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act, vehicle upkeep, and staff compliance, ensuring smooth operations and high safety standards for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, and supervise daily bus operations across school routes.
• Require to travel between various branches of K.R Mangalam World School in Delhi/NCR and Lucknow.
• Ensure punctuality, safety, and discipline in student and staff transportation.
• Optimize routes for time and fuel efficiency.

• Oversee preventive maintenance, servicing, and repair of buses.
• Ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, clean, and well-maintained.
• Maintain records of maintenance schedules, logbooks, and breakdown reports.

• Maintain valid documents for all vehicles: insurance, fitness, permits, pollution certificates, and road tax.
• Ensure driver licenses, police verifications, and medical fitness certificates are updated.
• Prepare and maintain MIS reports for transport compliance and submit to management.

• Supervise and manage drivers and helpers, ensuring adherence to school policies.
• Conduct regular training on safety, behaviour, and emergency response.

• Implement strict safety standards inside buses (GPS, CCTV, fire safety, first-aid).
• Handle breakdowns, accidents, or emergencies efficiently.
• Conduct safety drills and awareness programs for drivers and students.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate in any discipline
• 7–10 years of experience in transport/fleet management
• In-depth knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and transport regulations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and crisis management skills.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.
• Good Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel
