Transition Specialist

Job Summary

The Transition Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end transitions for new processes, clients, or projects across AR, AP, and GL functions. This role ensures seamless knowledge transfer, operational readiness, documentation integrity, and successful handover to steady-state operations. The position requires strong domain expertise, a questioning mindset, analytical capability, and hands-on involvement.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities / Skillsets

• 1. Lead full lifecycle of transitions including assessment, planning, due diligence, migration, stabilization, and handover.
• Conduct detailed due diligence to understand current state processes, identify gaps, and define transition requirements.
• Drive comprehensive Knowledge Transfer (KT), documentation (SOPs, workflows), and process mapping with SMEs.
• Ensure strong focus on

  documentation, technical accounting, process accuracy, controls, and compliance

• Collaborate with Operations, IT, HR, Quality, and other teams for infrastructure, hiring, and operational readiness.
• Manage UAT, pilot runs, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Prepare and maintain project plans, dashboards, governance decks, and status reports.
• Ensure smooth handover to steady-state teams with defined SLAs, controls, and checkpoints.

Requirements

Qualifications / Certifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in project management, transitions, migrations, or shared services operations.
• Strong understanding of finance processes—AR, AP, GL - Preferred
