Job Description

The Placement Head leads efforts to maximize student placements by organizing events, building employer partnerships, and managing placement processes. They ensure effective operations, meet targets, and maintain strong industry and alumni connections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize student placements.
  • Organize job fairs, campus interviews, and events to facilitate bulk placements.
  • Conduct alumni meet-ups to foster networking opportunities and maintain strong alumni relations.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with multinational and local employers to secure high-paying job opportunities for students.
  • Analyze market trends to recommend necessary changes to courses, planning, and placement strategies.
  • Address student and company queries, offering improvement suggestions to the Head of Department.
  • Create workflows to streamline operations between placement coordinators, academic coordinators, interdepartmental teams, and students.
  • Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the placement cell.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the placement programs and make necessary improvements.
  • Implement software and automation solutions to simplify placement processes.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of student profiles, placement records, and employer feedback in the ERP system.
  • Attend job fairs, company visits, and other placement-related events as needed.
  • Achieve placement targets as assigned by management.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a team that directly or indirectly reports to you.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports (KPI/KRA, resource utilization) to the reporting manager, offering insights and recommendations for optimizing the placement cell.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects assigned by management within the specified turnaround time.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant field.
  • Experience in career services, talent acquisition, or placements, ideally in IT or education.
  • Strong knowledge of IT industry trends and job requirements.
  • Excellent networking, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with resume writing, interview prep, and career counseling.
  • Understanding of recruitment processes and employer expectations.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and data management platforms
