About Fusie Engineers

Fusie Engineers is a fast-growing engineering consultancy operating across the offshore, maritime, energy, and heavy-civil sectors, delivering end-to-end solutions in offshore structural design, marine engineering, ship integration, vessel modifications, and heavy-lift operations.

Our multidisciplinary teams work with major global clients to engineer complex structures and marine systems for offshore wind, oil & gas, and heavy transport industries. At Fusie, every engineer plays a key role in solving real-world challenges and shaping the next generation of maritime engineering solutions.

About the Role

Trainee Naval Architect

This position is ideal for candidates who are conceptually strong in hydrostatics, stability, ship structures, and hydrodynamics, and who wish to gain hands-on exposure to engineering projects involving offshore vessels, floating platforms, and marine systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior naval architects and engineers in the design and analysis of ships, barges, floating structures, and offshore modules.
  • Perform hydrostatic, stability, and intact/damage stability assessments for marine vessels and floating systems.
  • Support in the preparation of 3D hull models, compartmentation plans, and structural layouts.
  • Contribute to hydrodynamic studies, motion analysis, and load case development for offshore transport and installation operations.
  • Assist in structural design and verification of hull structures as per DNV, ABS, or equivalent rules.
  • Participate in drawing preparation—including general arrangements, midship sections, and structural plans.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical, structural, and operations teams for integration of marine systems (cranes, gangways, winches, and lifting equipment).
  • Support documentation, report preparation, and class submission workflows.

Skills & Competencies

  • Sound theoretical understanding of naval architecture fundamentals: hydrostatics, stability, ship structures, and resistance–propulsion.
  • Familiarity with marine design software (AutoHydro, Rhino, Maxsurf, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of structural rules and standards (DNV, ABS, BV, ISO).
  • Analytical and mathematical aptitude.
  • Basic exposure to 3D CAD (Inventor, Rhino, or AutoCAD).
  • Attention to detail, communication skills, and technical curiosity.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering (recent graduates preferred).
  • Internship or academic project experience related to ship design, structural analysis, or hydrodynamics is an advantage.

Why Join Fusie Engineers

  • Work on global-level offshore and marine projects from day one.
  • Learn from experienced professionals across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to real project data, class standards, and design reviews.
  • Opportunity for full-time placement as Naval Architect / Marine Engineer upon successful completion of traineeship.
