Job Description

VEHICLE TO DRIVE : TATA 5532 AND 4018 .

Core Responsibilities

Vehicle Operation: Safely
operate a tractor-trailer to transport goods, over intercity .
Inspections:
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, documenting any defects or mechanical issues and reporting them to maintenance or dispatch.
Cargo Handling:
Load, unload, and secure cargo, ensuring it is balanced and secure for the entire trip.
Route Planning:
Use maps and GPS systems to plan the most efficient and safest routes to meet delivery schedules.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and safety regulations, including mandatory rest periods and weight restrictions.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate logs of hours driven, activities, deliveries, fuel, and expenses, and complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
Communication:
Coordinate with dispatchers regarding delivery statuses, potential delays, and any road incidents.
Maintenance:
Perform basic vehicle maintenance, such as refueling and cleaning, and report serious mechanical problems.

Key Skills and Requirements

A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Clean driving record.
Strong knowledge of applicable trucking laws and regulations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work long hours and adapt to unexpected situations like traffic or weather.
Good communication skills for interacting with dispatchers and customers.
Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software, such as GPS.
