Social Science Teacher — Middle & Secondary (History, Geography & Civics)

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Social Science lessons (History, Geography, Civics) that promote inquiry, analytical thinking, and real-world connections.
  • Design and grade formative and summative assessments; use results to personalise instruction and track student progress.
  • Integrate educational technology (Google Classroom, Smart Board) and active learning strategies to enhance classroom participation and outcomes.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and an inclusive learning environment; implement differentiated instruction for varying learner needs.
  • Prepare instructional materials, maintain student records, and communicate academic progress with parents and academic leadership regularly.
  • Participate in curriculum development, faculty meetings, co-curricular activities, and school-led professional development initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, Geography, or related Social Science discipline.
  • B.Ed (or equivalent teacher training) and valid TET/CTET qualification as per regional requirements.
  • Proven classroom teaching experience in middle/secondary grades with demonstrable student outcome improvements.
  • Strong subject-matter expertise across History, Geography and Civics with ability to align lessons to CBSE/ICSE/state curricula.
  • Proficiency in lesson planning, assessment design, and classroom management techniques.
  • Comfortable using Google Classroom, Smart Board, and MS Office for instruction and record-keeping.

Preferred

  • Experience with project-based learning, enquiry-led pedagogy, or experiential fieldwork.
  • Additional certification in formative assessment or differentiated instruction.
  • Prior experience in a reputed private school or international curriculum environments.
