Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled M.Sc. Chemistry professional with a specialization in Chromatography to join our Testing Department. The role focuses on analytical testing and quality assessment of transformer oil and insulating materials, ensuring all chemical parameters meet industry and company standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in GC and other chromatographic techniques, supporting our commitment to product reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing of transformer insulating oils (new and in-service) for properties such as:
  • Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA)
  • Furan analysis
  • Moisture content
  • Acidity, BDV (Breakdown Voltage), and resistivity
  • Perform Chromatography (GC) tests for quality assessment of materials and oil samples.
  • Interpret and report test results in accordance with IEC, ASTM, IS and other relevant standards.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot analytical instruments such as:
  • Gas Chromatograph (GC)
  • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
  • Karl Fischer Titrator, etc.
  • Support root cause analysis and failure investigation related to transformer oil or insulation breakdown.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and service teams for testing support and quality assurance.
  • Maintain documentation and test records as per ISO 17025/IEC 60296 or internal lab standards.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance in the lab.

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry with a specialization in Chromatography (mandatory).
  • 1–3 years of experience in analytical chemistry, preferably in electrical, petrochemical, or oil testing labs.
  • Experience with transformer oil analysis or insulating materials is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of chromatographic techniques and sample preparation.
  • Familiarity with relevant testing standards (ASTM, IEC, IS).
