The Teradata Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure data architecture for the client platform, leveraging Teradata for data Lakehouse capabilities. This role requires deep expertise in data modeling, data lake/Lakehouse frameworks, Teradata specialization and integration strategies to ensure compliance with government standards and alignment with enterprise architecture. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data strategies, optimize performance, and enable advanced analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Architecture & Design: Define and implement end-to-end data architecture for lthe data platform. Design scalable data lakehouse solution using Teradata and modern big data frameworks. Establish data modeling standards, metadata management, and governance frameworks.
2. Teradata Specialization: Optimize Teradata queries, workloads, and resource utilization for performance and scalability. Implement workload management, indexing strategies, and automation for performance tuning. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and strategic objectives.
3. Integration & Interoperability: Develop strategies for integrating Teradata with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark), ETL pipelines, and APIs. Ensure compliance with government interoperability standards and security guidelines.
4. Performance Optimization: Optimize data pipelines and queries for high throughput and reliability. Implement best practices for data quality, lineage, and security.
5. Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with Solution Architects, ETL teams, and BI teams to ensure seamless integration. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
6. Documentation & Risk Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
7. IInnovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies in Teradata, big data, and cloud platforms. Recommend innovative solutions to enhance data architecture and analytics capabilities.
Must-Have Expertise: Teradata Data Lakehouse Architecture; Advanced SQL & Query Optimization; Data Modeling & Metadata Management; Data Security & Governance;
Integration with Big Data Frameworks (Spark, Hadoop)
Certification: TOGAF or equivalent preferred
Experience:
12+ years in data architecture and enterprise data solutions
Proven experience in designing large-scale Teradata-based data platforms
Exposure to government or financial sector projects preferred.
