Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, manuals, references, or instructions. This candidate should have strong communication skills which enable them to explain complicated concepts in a simple manner. This individual will also meet with customer representatives frequently in order to understand required content.


Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Customer Support, to gather information and understand product features and functionality.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, release notes, and other instructional materials.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy, clarity, and consistency, adhering to company and industry standards.
  • Regularly update and improve existing documentation to reflect product updates and changes.
  • Perform quality assurance on documentation to verify accuracy and usability.
  • Manage and maintain a knowledge base, ensuring that it remains up-to-date and readily accessible to both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of templates, style guides, and best practices for documentation.
  • Work closely with Product Management and Development teams to stay informed about upcoming product changes and releases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., English, Technical Communication, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the technology or software industry.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe FrameMaker, or Markdown.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and version control tools.
  • Basic understanding of software development, APIs, and web technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) concepts is a plus.
