Job Summary

Job Title: SQL Server Database Administrator Location: CSAPL Bengaluru Years of Experience: 7 10 Years Job Summary: We are seeking two experienced SQL Server Database Administrators to join our IT CTW Backend Support Operations team. The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the MS SQL infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability of over 200 productive SQL databases across three regions. This role requires a commitment to providing SQL support on a 24x5 basis during business hours, with on call support during weekends. Responsibilities: Identify, record, and troubleshoot SQL service tickets as per the service catalog. Perform SQL administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server instances. Provide escalated support for SQL services on CTW servers and assist SCOM and SCCM teams with SQL related activities. Administer backup and recovery processes for hosted SQL instances. Conduct performance checks and provide recommendations to SAP SMEs for optimization. Handle escalated tickets from Field IT or Service Desk and create PowerBI utilization trend reports. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure smooth operations and execute scheduled activities. Mandatory Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in SQL Server administration. Expert knowledge of SQL Server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (versions from 2016 onwards). Experience with SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Microsoft Clustering and Always On. Strong proficiency in Query Tuning and query optimization. Ability to work in a 24x5 support environment with on call responsibilities during weekends. Excellent Effective Communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus. Preferred Skills: Experience with Cloud Computing concepts (Azure, AWS, GCP). Familiarity with other database systems (Oracle, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL). Knowledge of Design IT process (ITSM/ITIL process), especially incident, change, and problem management. Hands on experience with Powershell Scripting and T SQL. Microsoft Certification in SQL Server is preferred. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven ability to work independently and coordinate with various teams. Strong Analytical Thinking skills and attention to detail. Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
