Team Lead - Fund Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Local supervision of the Crisil team of Fund accountants by answering routine questions, overseeing trainings, running calls as needed, handling escalations, etc. This person could supervise locally and help the respective NY managers in leading the team.
• Supervision of mutual fund treasury items, as serviced by State Street, such as expense accruals & budgets, asset-based fees, distribution estimates/projections, monitoring daily cash reports for potential line of credit needs, and 18f-3 compliance monitoring oversight
• Assisting with fund expense approvals and the payment/tracking process
• Oversee the review process of certain regulatory reporting items such as Form N-PORT, CPO/PQR, and the annual update of mutual fund prospectuses/SAIs (FIHI tables, expense tables, etc.)
• Assistance with or oversight of certain functions such as portfolio turnover rates, SEC yields, effective management fee rates, security lending, and certain board reporting
• Oversight/Review/Run certain financial reporting functions, such as semi-annual and annual reports, quarterly N-PORT attachment F, etc. For financial reporting, the role would still be in the weeds to some extent in terms of having to perform some reviews of State Street’s drafts, coordinate and send comments, etc.
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, or equivalent experience
• 10 to 18 years of relevant mutual fund experience
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of fixed income and equity securities as well as derivatives
