Team Lead – Banking Collections

Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic and result-driven Team Lead – Banking Collections to manage a team of collection agents responsible for recovering overdue payments from customers. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with experience in retail banking, unsecured/secured loans, or credit card collections. Must be fluent in Eng + Tamil/Telugu/Kannada OR Must be fluent in Eng +Bengali/Odia Key Responsibilities: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of collection agents to achieve monthly and quarterly recovery targets. Monitor team performance and provide regular coaching, feedback, and support. Allocate delinquent accounts to agents and ensure timely follow-up and resolution. Coordinate with customers to negotiate and recover overdue payments in a professional and ethical manner. Prepare and analyze collection reports and MIS to identify trends and risks. Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance, and RBI guidelines in all collection activities. Collaborate with internal departments like Legal, Risk, and Customer Service for escalations and dispute resolution. Conduct regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews. Visit high-risk customers as needed for field collections or resolution. Maintain accurate documentation and records of communication and payment arrangements. Required Skills & Qualifications: Graduate in any discipline (MBA/PG preferred). 2+ years of experience in banking collections, with at least 1–2 years in a team handling/supervisory role. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Excel and collection tools or CRM software. Knowledge of regulatory norms related to debt recovery and fair practices.
