Introduction & Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative
Talend Data Engineer
to enhance our in-house R&I solution for centralizing experimental data and generating outputs that support researcher analysis, particularly across Reporting, BI, and AI. This role requires a combination of strong SQL capabilities and proficient experience with the Talend platform, alongside the ability to collaborate within Agile squads and external partners.
Main Responsibilities
As a Talend Data Engineer, you will play a vital role in developing cohesive, end-to-end data ingestion and ETL solutions.
- Design, develop, and support Talend data pipelines, warehouses, and reporting systems.
- Analyze business requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Design data models and optimize tables/views in BigQuery using SQL.
- Contribute to solution architecture by proposing new design patterns and technologies.
- Ensure data security across all application layers.
- Collaborate on development best practices (e.g., source control, coding standards).
- Own full implementation including code quality, testing, monitoring, and performance.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
- Strong SQL skills (DDL, DML) and optimization experience.
- Proven expertise with Talend platform and Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery).
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the chemical industry.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Platform.
