Job Description

Role Overview: You will be spearheading the design and development of embedded controllers and inverter drives for a wide range of products including Room AC, ducted VRF, Chillers, and heat pumps. Your role will involve leveraging digital platforms, staying updated on emerging technologies, ensuring compliance standards are met, and driving innovation and agility in electronic hardware design. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) compliance during the design process. - Perform thermal analysis, derating analysis, and circuit simulation as required for electronic hardware testing. - Define the overall electronic system architecture, including power circuitry, sensing networks, safety protections, motor integration, and communication interfaces (UART, RS485, CAN, IC, SPI). - Develop and document handshaking protocols between hardware, compressor drive, and fan drive. Collaborate with firmware teams to validate logic, fault handling, and system safety behaviors. - Conduct functional testing, performance validation, and environmental testing for electronic systems. Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC, UL/IEC safety standards, and regulatory requirements. - Release engineering prototypes, lead root-cause analysis for field issues, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams for issue resolution. - Prepare and maintain technical documentation, manage ECN/ECR processes, and maintain version control for hardware and software releases. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, refrigeration system design, firmware, software/IoT, sourcing, and supplier engineering teams. - Identify cost-reduction opportunities in component selection, board design, and system architecture. Optimize PCB real estate and reduce module-level complexity. - Prepare risk assessments, mitigation plans, and development timelines for project execution. Qualifications Required: - Technical expertise in system architecture, test standards, system functionality, inverter drives, power electronics, IoT-based technologies, and switchgear selection. - Experience in control system development, inverter drive evaluation, user interface devices, and IoT-related development. - Knowledge of various types of sensors, soft-starters, VFDs, regulatory and safety standards, EMI/EMC test standards, communication protocols like Modbus, BACnet, wireless technology. - Project management skills including simultaneous execution of multiple development projects, coordination with cross-functional team members, and effective resource utilization. If you are interested in this role, the position is based in Hinjewadi, Pune, India (initial few months based out of Kapurbawdi, Thane). Blue Star values innovation, dedication, and teamwork, offering opportunities for professional growth and development.
